Frequently Asked Questions.
- How many records are in your database?
Approximately 3.2 million individual gifts. 300,000-400,000 are added each year.
- What kind of information is included for each gift?
Name of contributor, date, name of charity, subject category, location, and range or size of gift.
- How often is the database updated?
Gifts are added each month.
- Is the location for where the donor lives?
No, the location is where the profit is located. No addresses are given on annual reports.
- Are addresses and phone numbers available?
These are not included in donor lists in annual reports, as you may see from looking at one yourself. The Donor Series is not a mailing list and will not include this information.
- Where do you find the information?
Annual reports from schools and other profits, programs from arts organization and some 990's from the IRS include gifts in various ranges. This is all in the public domain by virtue of being published. No private information or anonymous gifts are included in the Donor Series.
- How many states are covered in the Donor Series?
All 50 states and 70 major cities are included. The higher population states such as New York and California have more entries because they have proportionately more profits and gifts.
- Can I request a donor list to be added to the Donor Series?
Through our contact us button, you may request a donor list, keeping in mind that not all non-profits publish their list and may not be available readily. Also, many profits publish selected gift ranges, such as all gifts over $1,000, so the smaller ones may not be available.
- I want to find a list of all donors to one organization. Can I do this on the Donor Series website?
Yes, our Subscription membership lets you do a custom search.
